In 2007 news began to swirl that some type of project involving Bill and Ted was in the works. It was soon discovered that this was not in fact a continuation of the movie we all came to love, but a remake of the first instalment.  The plot seems to be remaining the same having two high school kids in dire need of help on their history report travel through time and collect historical figures. According to the internet buzz two of these figures could be Gandhi and Calamity Jane and God knows who else. They are also “updating” the lingo so there shouldn’t be any “woahs” expected and they have also been rumoured to have put in updated references like ” Dude, we’re going to miss Dark Knight!”. What about the phone booth you ask? Gone. The word on the street is it’s going to be a “funkier” time travel machine and the one object on ever ones mind is, of course, a cell phone. One thing they kept true to the movie is that these high schoolers are still in a rock band but the name has taken a dramatic change. Nope there are no more Wyld Stallyns, the supposed new band name is the Atomic Gorillas. Boo. The cast has yet to be reveled but despite it being hard to replace Keanu and Alex they are never going to be able to replace George Carlin. To me this was the kind of movie you didn’t touch because it was great in its respected time period. Next thing you know we’ll have The Breakfast Club, Ferris Buller’s Day Off and Teen Wolf remakes on the way.
