According to IMDB Rob Zombie is officially off of the Halloween franchise. Halloween III is coming out non the less, this time under the direction of Patrick Lussier (Scream 3, My Bloody Valentine [2009] ).  It is still unclear if this will be a continuation of the original series and will ignore the original third installment or if it will be a continuation of Rob Zombies take. Theres also the possibility that it will be a complete reboot and may be released in 3-D. According to the Weinstein company this is set for an October 2010 release and is in pre-production.
