Around me there are only three movies theaters I enjoy going to. There’s the conveniently located and moderately priced Pavilion, the overpriced and somewhat distant United 12, and the Cobble Hill which sits somewhat in between in both price and distance.
The Theater itself is a two-story building with different famous characters painted on certain parts and in the right stairwell there are famous actors painted in black and white up the walls. One thing I really enjoy is that they play mainstream movies and independent features as well. So sometimes you can catch really good indies.
They also have the best ticket prices of all three theaters. It’s $10 for adults and $7 for children and seniors and if you come before five o’clock Monday through Friday it’s $7 for everyone. Plus the 3D movies only cost $12 for adults and $9 for children which compared to other theaters in not bad. On saturday and Sunday if you get there before two o’clock then it’s also $7 for everyone. Not to mention that Tuesday and Thursday are bargain days and the tickets are $7 all day and night, except on special engagements and holidays.
The concession stand that they have is also very good when it comes to pricing. They have everything from popcorn to candy, sodas, even a slushie machine. Plus all the employees are kind and courteous to everyone.
The screening rooms are perfectly sized and my favorite are the ones are up the staircase to the right. There are bathrooms in the first floor lobby and on the second floor up the right side staircase.
Also located around the theater are some restaurants and such including a sushi joint, a pastry cafe and the very awesome chocolate Room.
The Cobble Hill is located at 265 Court street in Brooklyn,NY 11231. The telephone number is 718-596-9113 and they have a website which is http://www.cobblehilltheatre.com.
