Universal Studios is planning a remake of the movie Drop Dead Fred. The original production company is returning ,as well as the original screenwriters, and revisions being done by Dennis McNicholas. They say that the plan is to have a darker tone than the original and it would be more like Beetlejuice. Russell Brand stated on his Twitter that not only is the movie happening but he is going to star as Fred.
