Remember Me is a film from writer Will Fetters and Director Allen Coulter. It stars Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper. The story focuses around Tyler, A young man who’s trying to find himself and cope with his brother’s death, meeting Ally through a twist of fate and the romance that blossoms as they help each other overcome the hardships in their lives.
The first time I heard about Remember Me I was reading the title off of a no parking sign near my job. Following my curiosity I looked up the information and found out that Pierce Brosnan, Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin would be filming over here. Being a fan of Pierce and Emilie and knowing that my girlfriend was a big Rob Pattinson fan we had to visit the set. So despite not knowing much about the film I was able to watch a lot of the scenes near the promenade being done. Rob, Emilie and Pierce were extremely nice to the fans that were there and although I missed all the oppourtunities to meet them personally we got good pictures.
I missed the theatrical release and had to wait until the DVD came out to finally watch the movie. From what I heard it had mixed reviews and a lot of the critics said they had a problem with the “outrageous” ending. I thought that Remember Me was going to be a typical romance film especially with Rob Pattinson in the starring role. I, like others, was completely and utterly wrong. Remember Me is one of the deepest and most well written movies I have seen in a very long time. From the first five minutes until the very end I enjoyed every moment of this movie. It really makes you think about life and the life un-lived. This movie to me plays out like a
I also have to that say that the acting was great in this film, despite what critics were saying. I especially have more respect for Rob Pattinson because outside of the Twilight universe he’s actually a great actor.
I don’t want to get to into detail because every moment of this movie is part of the journey that your taken on with these characters. Though I think that I did not find the ending at all offensive or distasteful. It’s hard to explain it without giving the ending away but it’s something that many of us experienced and many of us will never forget. I feel like showing or talking about this event in film isn’t distasteful or offensive at all. I actually feel as if the idea of not talking about it is disrespectful.
