AMC theaters hosted an event on June 29th,2010 to see the Twilight saga in theaters all in one night. I attended the 34th street theaters event with my girlfriend and her friends. Tickets were $30 for a pass to all three movies and it came with a $10 concession stand gift card. We got these lanyards with the passes attached that allowed us to freely leave and return to the theater and screening room. The theater itself was nice and had a very classic look to it. Prices were a tad high but the food was really good and I found it to be worth the money. At the main desk and on the second landing they were selling tote bags and T-Shirts for $15 and giving away posters and other small Eclipse stuff. The event started at 6:30pm with Twilight and then after a short break was followed up with New Moon. Someone in the booth must have made a mistake though because New Moon started playing after the Twilight credits and had to be stopped and reset. After New Moon ended there was an hour break until the Eclipse premier.
I’m not the biggest fan of the Twilight saga and as a big fan of Star Wars I don’t really favor the word saga being associated. One of the things that got me a little more interested in Eclipse was that David Slade was directing. As a fan of Hard Candy and especially 30 Days of night I was excited to see how he would handle this film. The last film he directed was 30 Days of Night and as anyone who has read the graphic novels or seen the film adaptation can tell you it’s no Twilight. I thought he did a great job directing it though and I especially liked the fight choreography for the climactic fight scenes.
As for the movie itself, coming from someone who hasn’t read the books, it was pretty good. I think I enjoyed this one the most because it has a little more action in it and the fight scenes are really awesome. Of course aside from the six other guys in the crowd the screening was very female dominant. Throughout all three films all you could hear were screams, crys, and random comments of jealousy towards Bella. judging by the reactions and applause of all the women in the crowd I think that any fans who haven’t seen this yet should get to it.
I’m not the type to bother leaving comments on peoples’ blogs generally nevertheless after stumbling across yours I decided I would drop a little line to give me a short break from working. I have to admit that I have gotten a lttle bit distracted going through and reading a number of your posts… I ought to probably be doing work. Carry on the great writing and i am already looking towards reading future articles. Regards!
