Sony Pictures announced this month that they have cancelled the filming of  Spider-Man 4. This is because director Sam Raimi dropped the project because he feared he couldn’t make a credible film by  May 2011, the release date Sony set.  Not long after Sony made another announcement stating that the next installment of Spider-Man would be a reboot of the series set for a 2012 release. Marc Webb, who has directed mostly music videos and the recently released 500 Days of Summer,  is stepping in as director. As for the cast, they are also being rebooted. Although there is no listing of who may star in this new installment, the old cast is out.
